Arrest of Ahwazi Arabs intensifies prior to Eid Fitr
Ahwazi reliable sources quoted to Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights (ACHR) that Iranian security forces has increased its arbitrary arrest against Ahwazi cultural and political activist at recent days.
The Ahwazi Arab people usually using all the opportunities to bring the international attention to its suffering such as random execution, arbitrary arrest, high rate of unemployment and disastrous situation of the Ahwazi environment, where these opportunities are encountering by Iranian crackdown that lead to long term imprisonment of forced disappearance.
The Iranian intelligence service has raided the “Kontex” district in Kut Abdullah city, east of Ahwaz capital and arrested three Ahwazi men and a woman and took them to unknown place on Wednesday the 15th of June 2016.
The ACHR source has identified following names:
1) Ahmed Sharifi with age 50,
2) Basem Sharifi son of Ahmed with age 24,
3) Majid Salmanian with age 24.
The same sources pointed out that after two days of detention, the Iranian authorities released the Ahwazi woman without the release of their relatives (mentioned names).
The Iranian authorities did not explain the reason of arrest to their families so far and Mr. Ahmed Sharifi’s family are concerning about his health condition as he suffers from high blood pressure and shortness of breath.
The Ahwazi sources quoted that security services have arrested an Ahwazi man named as Morteza Kaabi with age of 37, from Kut Abdullah city and transferred to unidentified location on Sunday the 19th of June 2016 and Qasim Silawi with age of 50 from Howyezeh city on Monday the 20th of June 2016.
In similar context, the intelligence services with help of revolutionary guards has stormed the “Althoura” district in Ahwazi capital and arrested three Ahwazi Arab activists and transferred them to an unknown location after searching their homes and tampering with property on Thursday the 23rd of June 2016.
The ACHR sources has identified following names:
1) Khairollah Sari son of Abbas,
2) Abdullah Sari son of Majid,
3) Akbar Sari son of Ateiyeh.
Also the intelligence service has arrested Ahwazi poet named as Aref Abu Nayef Alnaseri with age of 28, on Saturday the 25th of June 2016.
The arrest come after the intelligence service has raided Mr. Alnaseri house and arrested the Father of Ahwazi poet named as Rahim Alnaseri while the Ahwazi poet was not at his home to force him to hand himself over to the intelligence authorities.
All the detainees’ families do not have any news about them and they are not aware of the charges that led to their arrest.
Local activists have warned of the growing raids and arrests against Ahwazis in the holy month of Ramadan in anticipation of the authorities to crackdown the celebrations and demonstrations organized by Ahwazi Arab activists every year on the Eid day.
