Arrest of Ayoub Ghaibipour by IRGC Intelligence Agents in Occupied Al-Ahwaz

Ayoub Ghaibipour, a Bakhtiari citizen and one of those detained during the revolutionary “Zhina” movement, was arrested on Sunday, January 6, 2025, by IRGC intelligence agents in the capital city of Ahwaz and transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to reports from Hengaw, agents affiliated with the occupying Iranian regime arrested him while he was engaging in physical training at a gym. The agents also confiscated the gym’s surveillance cameras.
A source close to the Ghaibipour family revealed that he had not received any formal notification for the enforcement of his sentence. His arrest is likely linked to his activities.
Earlier this year, Mr. Ghaibipour was sentenced to 10 years in prison for “enmity against God” (moharebeh) and an additional year for “propaganda against the regime,” amounting to a total of 11 years. This verdict was upheld in October.
Furthermore, he was sentenced to 35 years of exile to Kerman Prison on charges of “deliberate arson and destruction of public property” and “propaganda against the government.”
The 30-year-old citizen was previously arrested during the revolutionary movement on November 13, 2022, and transferred to Sheiban Prison. After undergoing a major surgery during his imprisonment, he was temporarily released on February 13, 2023, upon posting a bail of 3 billion tomans.
