Ahwaz Centre for Human Rights Condemns the Arrest of Arab Ahwazi Civil, Cultural, and Political Activists by Iranian Occupying Forces

The Ahwaz Centre for Human Rights strongly condemns the recent wave of arbitrary arrests carried out by the security forces of the Iranian occupying regime in occupied Arab Ahwaz. These arrests have targeted numerous Arab Ahwazi activists without any legal justification or adherence to basic human rights principles.

These arbitrary arrests are part of a long-standing series of human rights violations perpetrated by the Iranian occupying authorities against the people of Ahwaz, aimed at suppressing free voices and silencing calls for freedom and human dignity among the Arab Ahwazi population.

Names of Identified Detainees:

1. Ayoub Ghaibipour

2. Saeed Ismail

3. Ali Al-Sari bin Jabbar

4. Mohammed Al-Ayashi

5. Youssef Al-Saedi

6. Ayoub Al-Tarafi

7. Ahmed Khaledi

8. Saeed Fallahi

9. Hossein Saeedi

10. Ahmed Jalali

11. Mansour Jasemi

12. Sadeq Mansouri

These arrests constitute a blatant violation of all international human rights treaties and conventions, particularly the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

The Ahwaz Centre for Human Rights urgently calls on the following bodies:

• The United Nations and its human rights-related institutions

• Amnesty International

• The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights

• Arab, regional, and international human rights organizations

To take immediate and necessary actions to:

1. Pressure the Iranian regime to release all Ahwazi detainees unconditionally and without delay.

2. Dispatch independent investigative committees to examine the conditions of the detainees and their detention circumstances.

3. Ensure the safety, security, and physical and mental well-being of the detainees.

The global community’s silence in the face of these continuous crimes encourages the Iranian regime to persist in its oppressive policies against the Ahwazi people, further exacerbating their suffering and hardships.

The Ahwaz Centre for Human Rights reaffirms its commitment to defending the rights of the Ahwazi people and exposing the systematic human rights violations committed by the Iranian occupying regime until the Arab people of Ahwaz achieve their legitimate and lawful rights, including the right to self-determination.

Hossein Bouazar originates from Ahwaz and stands as a fervent champion for human rights. Deeply connected to his Ahwazi Arab heritage, his literary works illuminate the adversities faced by this community. An outspoken critic of the Iranian regime, Hossein bravely highlights the grave human rights violations inflicted upon the Ahwazi Arabs. Through his compelling narratives, he seeks to amplify international consciousness of the challenges the Ahwazi Arabs encounter. His prose resonates as a defiant call for a world that upholds the inherent rights of every individual, irrespective of their ethnic roots or background.
