Four teachers’ union activists from Ahwaz, named Siamak Sadeghi Chehrazi, Kokab Bodaghi Panah, Pirouz Nami, and Ali Karoushat, have been sentenced to a total of 24 years in prison by the Ahwaz Revolutionary Court.

According to a report by Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights sources, this verdict was issued orally by the Third Branch of the Ahwaz Revolutionary Court and communicated to the four activists on January 7, 2025 (18 Dey 1403).

In a joint case, these activists were sentenced to five years each for “assembly and collusion against national security” and an additional one year each for “propaganda activities against the regime.”

The court session addressing their charges was held on November 7, 2024 (16 Aban 1403).

Kokab Bodaghi Panah, one of the activists, was charged in October of this year by Branch 13 of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Ahwaz and was subsequently released on bail.

The other activists also have a history of legal confrontations due to their union activities.
