According to available documentation, these individuals were held in solitary confinement for months without access to legal counsel, and their court sessions were rushed, conducted under repressive circumstances, and denied them the ability to mount an effective defense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A blatant example of injustice includes the judge preventing the defendant from speaking and expelling his lawyer from the courtroom \u2014 a clear violation of the right to a fair trial as enshrined in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The death sentences were issued based on forced \u201cconfessions\u201d extracted under physical and psychological torture and later broadcast by state media.
