The resolution passed with 23 votes in favor, 8 against, and 15 abstentions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the resolution, the Council condemned the \u201csystematic violations of human rights in Iran\u201d and called on the Islamic Republic authorities to end the \u201cstructural impunity\u201d granted to those responsible for acts of repression. It urged full cooperation with both the Special Rapporteur and the UN Fact-Finding Mission to investigate these human rights abuses. The Human Rights Council emphasized that this structural impunity has fueled a cycle of violence and deprived victims of justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the session, representatives from various countries \u2014 including Iceland, Spain, Belgium, Brazil, and Switzerland \u2014 voiced concern over the rising number of executions, suppression of free speech, violations of women\u2019s and girls\u2019 rights, and the targeting of religious and ethnic minorities in Iran.
