His case has recently been referred back to the city\u2019s prosecutor\u2019s office from Branch 3 of the Ahwaz General and Revolutionary Court due to procedural flaws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Karoun, quoting the Coordinating Council of Iranian Teachers\u2019 Trade Associations (<em>occupying Iran<\/em>), this referral has prolonged the uncertainty of this teacher\u2019s detention, now entering its eleventh month. It is expected that Branch 13 of the Ahwaz General and Revolutionary Prosecutor\u2019s Office will send the case back to court after completing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Developments in the case show that in early&nbsp;<em>Bahman<\/em>&nbsp;(late January), the joint case of Mr. Jalali-Nejad and&nbsp;<em>Mehdi Me\u2019mar<\/em>was transferred from Branch 4 to Branch 3 of the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court due to the judge\u2019s absence. Previously, on&nbsp;<em>December 8th<\/em>, both were tried in Branch 102 of the Ahwaz Criminal Court, presided over by Judge&nbsp;<em>Poursaraj<\/em>, regarding another part of their case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Teachers\u2019 Union Council (<em>occupying Iran<\/em>),&nbsp;<em>Aman Jalali-Nejad<\/em>&nbsp;has been sentenced to&nbsp;<em>three years and six months in prison<\/em>&nbsp;by the criminal court, though the specific charges have not been publicly disclosed.
