Ahwazi heritage activists revealed that\u00a0 part of the Ahwazi historic building named as \u201cbeit al-Sheyoukh\u201d been demolished by Iranian regime a few days ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While the destruction went deliberately but Sayed Mostafa Mousavi, a member of the Iranian Heritage Expression Association, said: \u201cThe eastern wall of the \u201cbeit al-Sheyoukh\u201d has fallen by (rainfall) over the past two weeks\u201d in complete neglect and silence of the Iranian Cultural Heritage Bureau. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cbeit al-Sheyoukh\u201d or Sheikh Nabhan’s second home is an Ahwaz’s historic home with a unique architecture in the \u201cAmeri\u201d district of Ahwaz capital. The \u201cbeit al-Sheyoukh\u201d is nearly four hundred years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cbeit al-Sheyoukh\u201d is mentioned in the book by French archaeologist \u201cDieulafoy\u201d. she stayed there three nights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Formerly, local Ahwazi heritage activists had warned against this historic home and asked the Iranian Cultural Heritage association to decide on the assigning budget for this building, as parts of the building had been destroyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to \u201cbeit al-Sheyoukh\u201d, other Ahwazi historic homes like Mirza Fakher House, Sheikh Shanan’s House and Haj Hamoud House, despite their unique architecture, are at imminent danger of destruction by the Iranian regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In similar context, 100-year-old palace of the last ruler of Al-Ahwaz in the city of Hamidiyeh is in complete negligence of the Iranian regime officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this regards, head of the Cultural Heritage Administration in Hamidiyeh said: \u201c The current owner of this building is the \u201cKhuzestan Water and Power Organization\u201d, which does not assign any budget to protect it, nor it gives its ownership to a cultural heritage Administration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c The main Hamidiyeh Historical palace is composed of 2 floors of the basement, connected to a network of underground tunnels to the city\u201d, Mr. Obeidawi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the head of the Cultural Heritage Administration in Hamidiyeh said that Hamidiyeh Palace is on the verge of complete destruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local eye witness quoted to Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights that the Iranian IRGC forces tried in many time before to destroy the palace by making artificial earthquake or testing military equipment inside the palace. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
