{"id":2533,"date":"2017-10-30T17:39:46","date_gmt":"2017-10-30T09:39:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acfh.info\/en\/?p=2533"},"modified":"2017-10-30T17:39:46","modified_gmt":"2017-10-30T09:39:46","slug":"falahiyeh-farmers-protest-against-their-non-payment-of-agricultural-losses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acfh.info\/en\/falahiyeh-farmers-protest-against-their-non-payment-of-agricultural-losses\/","title":{"rendered":"Falahiyeh farmers protest against their non-payment of agricultural losses"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Number of Ahwazi (Falahiyeh) farmers gathered in front of the Agricultural Bank Management Office in Ahwaz capital to protest against the non-payment of drought losses, calling for the payment of their corp\u2019s damages from the Khuzestan (part of Al-Ahwaz) Agricultural Products Insurance Fund on Monday 23<sup>rd<\/sup> of October 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Executive Director of the Falahiyeh (Shadegan) Farmers&#8217; Union said: &#8221; Falahiyeh farmers have been insuring their land for last 2 years, but the insurance fund does not act against the losses incurred for the formers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Houshang Moghamesi in a meeting with IRNA news agency, pointing out that the Khuzestan (part of Al-Ahwaz) Governor&#8217;s crisis management department also confirmed the losses incurred by Falahieyh agricultural lands as a result of the drought, said: \u201cThe fund has not paid damages to Falahieyh\u2019s farmers despite the acceptance of the drought by Iranian Meteorological Office&#8217;s indexes.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Moghamesi said about 800 Falahieyh farmers insured 12,000 hectares of land and the Khuzestan (part of Al-Ahwaz) Agricultural Insurance Fund also pledged to pay a damages of 20 million Rials per hectare for drought.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Agricultural lands in Falahieyh city suffer from severe lack of water, which has led to difficult conditions for farmers,&#8221; he continued.<\/p>\n<p>The city of Falahieyh in the southwest of Khuzestan (part of Al-Ahwaz) province and 75 km from Ahwaz capital has about 188 villages and three parts.<\/p>\n<p>Falahieyh has more than 57,000 hectares of cultivated land, of which only half of the land is cultivated for some reason, including water shortages<\/p>\n<p>Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Number of Ahwazi (Falahiyeh) farmers gathered in front of the Agricultural Bank Management Office in Ahwaz capital to protest against the non-payment of drought losses, calling for the payment of their corp\u2019s damages from the Khuzestan (part of Al-Ahwaz) Agricultural Products Insurance Fund on Monday 23rd of October 2017.
