More than twenty political prisoners, majority of them from non-Persian nations, continue to go on hunger strike in Iranian Rajaei Shahr Prison (Gohardasht of Karaj), in protest of their transfer to the section 10, asking them to return to the previous hall.<\/p>\n
According to reports achieved by Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights (ACHR), more than eighteen political prisoners are now on hunger strike since 31st<\/sup> of July 2017, with difficult conditions and poorly-minded bodies due to hunger strike and harsh conditions, after the prisoners\u2019 transfer to a maximum-security section of the Rajaei Shahr prison.<\/p>\n The hunger strike prisoners are protesting for their transfer to a section that has more than forty cameras and sixty listening microphones, even in bathroom facilities, and prisoners are demanding returning to the previous section.<\/p>\n Khaled Hardani, an Ahwazi political prisoner of Rajaei Shahr felt severe abdominal pain since begging of the hunger strike. The prison authorities refuse to treat him by sending him to hospital and emphasizing that he need to be treated in prison clinic. Speaking about the condition of clinic of Rajaei Shahr prison, clinic is basically, a room with a bed, without any nurse or warden.<\/p>\n Khaled Hardani was sentenced to death, for violating flight security but the sentence was reduced after complaints of lawyers and his family regarding the process of his trial, to life-time prison. Then he was convicted to 7 years and six months in exile for unreasonable allegations, fabricated by security forces. He is currently serving his sentence.<\/p>\n Hamzeh Sawari, is another Ahwazi prisoner on hunger strike of Rajaei Shahr prison, born in 1989 and resident of Ahwaz capital, was arrested while he was a 16-year-old teenager along with his two brothers named Mohammad Ali and Jaffer, on charge of \u201cforming a cultural institution\u201d, on September 2, 2005.<\/p>\n These three brothers were under torture during their interrogations to confess their involvement in bombings and later his two brothers were executed. Hamzeh was also sentenced to death, but the sentence was reduced.<\/p>\n He is charged with acting against national security, enmity against God and corruption on earth by Branch One of the Revolutionary Court in Ahwaz capital and sentenced to life imprisonment and then he was exiled from Karoon prison in Ahwaz capital to Rajaei Shahr prison in Karaj.<\/p>\n He is currently suffering from serious infection and renal inflammation and has been denied of receiving effective medical care.<\/p>\n Despite of the prisoners\u2019 demand for returning to the previous section, but the Iranian prison authorities rejected their demand where with the dreadful conditions of the prison, the authorities are putting prisoners\u2019 physical and mental wellbeing at serious risk.<\/p>\n Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" More than twenty political prisoners, majority of them from non-Persian nations, continue to go on hunger strike in Iranian Rajaei Shahr Prison (Gohardasht of Karaj), in protest of their transfer to the section 10, asking them to return to the previous hall.
