Ahwazi Arab Metro workers have stopped working due to unpaid<\/p>\n

salary for seven months since 02-October 2015.<\/p>\n

Dozens of\u00a0Ahwazi workers<\/a>\u00a0has been peacefully striking for more than 20 days to protest against the non-payment of their salaries and benefits.<\/p>\n

Iranian officials like Ahwazi underground project manager Mr Sayed Naji Mohabat by stating of finding difficulties in paying salaries and lack of financial support from government said: \u201cWe have sacked 100 workers in June 2015 and other 300 workers also need to be dismissed.<\/p>\n

One of the workers by speaking to Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights stated that Ahwazi metro workers did not receive their salaries for last seven month except an amount about 100 Dollars paid as financial aid by employer!<\/p>\n

Ahwazi metro workers’ demands from authority in Ahwaz a rapid intervention and pressure on the Kayson company’s management until they pay their salaries and benefits but they did not find any reply from authority so far.<\/p>\n

Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights had earlier\u00a0a report<\/a>\u00a0this month\u00a0about disastrous situation of Ahwazi workers with their employer on 01-October 2015.<\/p>\n

Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights condemns the Iranian discriminatory policy by depriving Ahwazi workers from basic human and legal rights stipulated by international conventions and treaties and calls upon United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, prince Zeid Ben Ra\u2019ad to raise Ahwazi Arab workers concerns in next meeting of United Nation that\u2019s going to be held on 24-25 of November 2015.<\/p>\n
