{"id":1087,"date":"2016-10-07T21:08:25","date_gmt":"2016-10-07T13:08:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ahwaz.acfh.info\/?p=1087"},"modified":"2016-10-07T21:08:25","modified_gmt":"2016-10-07T13:08:25","slug":"surge-of-arrests-against-ahwazi-arab-cultural-and-religious-activists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acfh.info\/en\/surge-of-arrests-against-ahwazi-arab-cultural-and-religious-activists\/","title":{"rendered":"surge of arrests against Ahwazi Arab cultural and religious activists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to the news from Ahwazi activists received by Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights (ACHR) that Iranian Intelligence Forces in Ahwaz capital, arrested an Ahwazi cultural activist named as Ameer Silawi at his home in Kut-Abdullah around 10 pm on Wednesday the 5<sup>th<\/sup> of October 2016.<\/p>\n<p>According to the source, Ameer Silawi 34 years old, married and has several children, due to his cultural activities was arrested several times previously but had been released on bail.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmer Silawi was highly active in the formation of human chains to protest against the Ahwazi Karoon River water\u2019s diversions to Isfahan and other Iranian Cities as well as Ahwazi traditional game on the nights of holy Ramadan with a significant presence of Ahwazi Arab people that been held in different regions of Al-Ahwaz\u201d source stated.<\/p>\n<p>Ameer Silawi\u2019s other activities is to gather Arab youths and encourage them to wearing Arabic dress in festivals and national and religion occasions.<\/p>\n<p>Ameer Silawi has an Arabic clothing fabrics selling shop in Kut-Abdullah, where on different occasions such as Eid al-Fitr and Eid-al-Adha he helped those who can not afford to buy clothes for Eid celebration due to severe poverty.<\/p>\n<p>Its worth to mention that Ameer was not linked to any political group but fears and concerns that he faces with baseless accusations as Ameer Silawi\u2019s relative stated that they are not informed about Ameer charges and whereabouts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arrest of Ahwazi poet from Falahieyh city<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An Ahwazi Arab poet named as Aref Nawaseri from Falahieyeh city has been arrested by Iranian intelligence service on Tuesday the 4<sup>th<\/sup> of October 2015 after writing and expressing heroic and national Arabic poem in mourning of two executed Ahwazi Arab youth from Ghalat-Kanaan located in suburbs of Ahwazi capital.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Aref after returning from Ahwazi Capital to his home that is Falahieyh city was arrested. According to reliable source quoted to Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights that Mr. Nawaseri been released on Thursday the 6<sup>th<\/sup> of October 2016 and their families took him directly to hospital due to severe and barbaric torture exerted against him by the intelligence service agent.<\/p>\n<p>The Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights strongly raising its concerns and fears about Mr. Nawaseri and other Ahwazi poets\u2019 life where the Ahwazi poet named as Sattar Sayahi died on November 2012 after a short time duration of arrest.
