Rezgar Bigzadeh Babamiri, Ali (Soran) Ghasemi, Pejman Soltani, and Kaveh Salehi have been sentenced to death under conditions where no fair trial standards were observed. According to available documentation, these individuals were held in solitary confinement for months without access to legal counsel, and their court sessions were rushed, conducted under repressive circumstances, and denied them the ability to mount an effective defense.

A blatant example of injustice includes the judge preventing the defendant from speaking and expelling his lawyer from the courtroom — a clear violation of the right to a fair trial as enshrined in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.

The death sentences were issued based on forced “confessions” extracted under physical and psychological torture and later broadcast by state media. Such actions constitute not only severe violations of human rights but also illustrate the regime’s systematic use of coerced confessions to justify capital punishment.

The Ahwaz Centre for Human Rights – UK stresses the responsibility of the Iranian authorities and calls on international institutions — particularly the United Nations, the Human Rights Council, and organizations such as Amnesty International — to intensify diplomatic and legal pressure to halt these executions and to initiate an impartial investigation into the circumstances of these arrests, interrogations, and trial procedures.

The Ahwaz Centre for Human Rights – UK reiterates its warning that the continuation of such repressive practices not only endangers the lives of innocent individuals but also severely undermines the credibility of Iran’s judicial system on the international stage.
