Information Received by the Ahwaz Human Rights Centre – UK: Illegal and Violent Arrest of Peyman Nadrian in Marivan
Peyman Nadrian, a 22-year-old from the village of “Dareh Nakhah” in Marivan County, was arrested on Wednesday, 5 Shahrivar 1404, by security forces affiliated with the Iranian regime. This arrest, which involved severe physical violence, is a clear violation of human rights and has raised serious concerns about his well-being.
According to information received by the Ahwaz Human Rights Centre – UK, regime intelligence forces raided Peyman Nadrian’s home, arresting him with heavy beatings and confiscating his mobile phone. This action, carried out without any judicial warrant or informing his family, is an example of the increasing repression in Kurdish, Arab (Ahwaz), Baloch, and South Azerbaijan regions.
To date, no information has been made available regarding the reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, or his place of detention and physical condition. The lack of transparency in this regard, as well as the denial of access to his family and a lawyer, confirms the violation of his fundamental rights and freedoms.
The Ahwaz Human Rights Centre – UK strongly condemns this illegal action and calls for the immediate and unconditional release of Peyman Nadrian and other political prisoners from Kurdish, Arab, Baloch, and South Azerbaijan communities. Amid increasing repression and arbitrary arrests faced by residents of these regions, the Centre emphasizes that the systematic and targeted violation of human rights against non-Persian peoples continues.
The Centre also calls on international organizations and human rights bodies to exert pressure on the Iranian regime to prevent the continuation of these repressive policies and widespread human rights violations against non-Persian nations. The suppression of political freedoms, the right to assemble, and the right to free speech among political prisoners, especially in Kurdish, Baloch, Arab (Ahwaz), and South Azerbaijan territories, requires the immediate attention and action of the international community.
