The deteriorating condition of political prisoner Jaber Sokhravi in Ahwaz Central Prison

According to Ahwazi activists, Jaber Sokhravi, a political prisoner and son of Gahami, who is imprisoned in Ward 5 of the central (Sheiban) prison in Ahwaz and suffers from chronic multiple sclerosis, fell unconscious and lost consciousness on Friday, July 5, due to the exacerbation of his disease. As a result of this incident, his mouth has become crooked, and his speech has become slow and unclear.
Mr. Sokhravi was sentenced to 14 years and 6 months in prison by Branch 4 of the Ahwaz Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Shabouni, on charges of membership in the “Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahwaz.” This sentence was later reduced to 12 years and 5 months by Branch 16 of the Ahwaz Court of Appeals, presided over by Judge Saeed Kousha.
This political prisoner has been suffering from this disease since the beginning of his sentence, and security officials still oppose granting him medical leave or sending him to a hospital outside the prison.
