Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights Calls on the International Community for Urgent Action to Stop Mass Executions in Iran

The Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights has issued an urgent appeal to the international community and global human rights organizations to intervene immediately to halt the execution sentences issued against dozens of prisoners and political detainees in Ahwaz and non-Persian regions.
The Centre emphasized that the Iranian authorities use executions as a tool to instill fear and tighten their iron grip on the revolting peoples, in an attempt to suppress any popular movements that could lead to a widespread revolution across Iran’s geopolitical landscape.
The Centre warned that the continuation of this repressive policy could exacerbate the humanitarian and security situation in the region. It called on the United Nations and international human rights bodies to exert maximum pressure on the Iranian regime to stop these grave human rights violations.
In its statement, the Centre asserted that international silence in the face of these crimes amounts to indirect complicity. It demanded the dispatch of independent international investigative committees to uncover the conditions of political detainees in Iranian prisons and to ensure fair and transparent trials free from political and security dictates.
The statement concluded by stressing the need to stand with the oppressed peoples in Iran and support their legitimate rights in accordance with international treaties and human rights conventions.
