A protest gathering of unemployed youth from Gheyzaniyeh district of Ahwaz in front of the Marun Oil Company.
On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, unemployed youth from the oil-rich villages of Gheyzaniyeh district in Ahwaz held a peaceful protest against the non-employment of local youth and the hiring of non-local workers.
The residents of these villages say that despite the presence of hundreds of oil wells and massive oil and gas facilities, the National Oil Company provides no services to them under its social responsibility, and they live in deprivation.
The youth also state that the employees of the Marun company are non-local, and in every recruitment, the company hires non-local individuals, leaving the children of these oil-rich villages unemployed.
