Iranian courts issue unfair sentences against Ahwazis after returning from abroad

According to human rights sources within Al-Ahwaz, the Iranian Revolutionary Court in the Ahwaz capital sentenced Ahwazi brothers after returning from Sweden, to five years in imprisonment.

The two brothers were Kadhim Sari son of Karim, 26, and Abbas Sari son of Karim, 23, from the “second Shukara” neighbourhood, north-east of the city of Kut Abdullah, were arrested on March 9 2017 following their return from Sweden. They are charged with working against the national security of the Persian state.

The sources said that the Iranian Revolutionary Court sentenced the two brothers to five years in prison in an illegal and injustice trial in early August of 2017.

Arrests and unfair sentences against Ahwazis returning from the Diaspora began with an unjust sentence of six years in prison for Ahwaz Zeya Sari son of Hussein, who returned to Ahwaz from the Kingdom of the Netherlands in late February 2017.

Ziya Sawari an Ahwazi young refugee in Netherlands after returning to Iran was arrested by the Iranian Security Guards also known as “Sepāh-e Pāsdārān-e Enqelāb-e Eslāmi”.

Ziya was arrested after his returns to Iran by the “Sepāh-e Pāsdārān-e Enqelāb-e Eslāmi”, He then was accused by the Islamic Revolution Court and his file number 9509986300400010, of being a member of “Ahwaz Liberation Movement” and “propaganda against the Islamic Republic” By virtue of Article 500 and 499 of the Penal Code refers to Article 5 to 6 years’ imprisonment on 21st of December 2016.

The sources said that the Iranian occupation intelligence arrested Khalil Ghafli son of Hassan on April 13 2017, after returning from the Kingdom of the Netherlands where he was seeking asylum. 45-year-old Halim Sari son of Hussein, who was a refugee in the Swedish Kingdom and due to the tragic situation of the refugees in the refugee camps and the failure to decide their cases, he returned to Al-Ahwaz to be arrested a few days after his arrival.

Mr Hadi Mazreah, 35 years old, living in Farhangshahr (Mothaghafin) district of Ahwaz Capital despite seek asylum to Greece authorities and was forced to returned to Turkey and then Iran, has committed suicide on Sunday 1st of May 2016.

The sources called on the international community to intervene to conduct urgent investigations into abuses committed by the Persian occupation, including systematic arrests and unfair sentences against citizens who committed no crime other than to travel in search of better conditions away from the occupation.
