Wide arrest against members of the Popular Relief Committees in Al-Ahwaz

The Iranian security forces along with the Revolutionary Guards’ intelligence, has launched mass wave of arrests against Ahwazi activists in the Popular Relief Committees on Monday the 29thof April 2019.

The reliable source quoted to Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights (ACHR) that number of Ahwazi cultural and civil activist in different cities of Al-Ahwaz been arrest on Monday without prior notice or warrant by Iranian intelligence service.

ACHR has received the following names the were arrested on Monday the 29thof April 2019:

  1. Mr. Naji Sawari, son of Abboud, 38, married, writer and has three children, a teacher at the Taleghani School and, was volunteer member of the Popular Relief Committees to help flooded people. He is a resident of the “Bargh” Town of Ahwaz capital. He was arrested while he was teaching in the school.
  2. Maher Dassumi, 30, married and had a son, researcher, writer, and volunteer member of the Popular Relief Committees who helped the flooded people recently. He was a skilled graduate student and working as teacher at a school in Sheyban, and resident of the “Pasturizeh” district of Ahwaz capital.
  3. Ali Obeidawi, 36, married and has three children, teacher of the Quds school in Hamidiyeh city, and volunteer member of the Popular Relief Committees who helped the flooded people recently. He is from the “Alawi” (Hay al-Thawrah) district of Ahwaz capital.
  4. Abdullah Firesat, 27, a resident of “Baharestan” district of Ahwaz capital, and a cultural activist, and volunteer member of the Popular Relief Committees who helped the flood victims.
  5. Qies Ghazy from Falahieyh (Shadeghan) city.

In the similar context the Ahwazi human rights activists quoted to Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights (ACHR) that the Iranian security service has launched mass campaign of raids and arrests against number of Ahwazi activists in the Mallashyeh district of Ahwaz capital on Saturday, April 13, 2019.

The activists said that the most of the detainees were individual who has helped the Popular Relief Committees of the deliberate flood’s victims.

The Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights managed to obtain the following names of detainees that were arrested:

The Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights condemns the mass arrests against Ahwazi young and the Centre consider the campaign arrests as the way to silence the Ahwazi affected by flood’s voice when they reveilles the lack of aid provided to Ahwazi people nowadays and calls for release of all detainees unconditionally.

 The Centre also calls upon international human rights organisations and defenders to put pressure on Iranian regime to stop its ethnic cleansing policies implemented in all over Al-Ahwaz.
