More arrests and collective court sentence against Ahwazi activists

The Iranian occupation regime has intensified its campaign of arrests against Ahwazi activists in recent days.

After arresting the Ahwazi cultural activist Mrs. Fatimah Tamimi and releasing her after several days of arrest, the Iranian occupation regime has arrested Fatimah’s colleague and took him to an unknown destination.  

Mr. Hossein Zadeh Shaeyea (Shanawi), 42 years old and resident of the “Alkureh” district of Ma’ashour ( Mahshahr Persian name) city has been arrested on Sunday the 20th of December 2020 and took him to an unknown location.

Ahwazi human rights sources said that the Iranian intelligence services surrounded Mr. Hossein Zadeh Shaeyea’s house with several cars at 4:00 AM on Sunday, December 20, and confiscated all the filming equipment, including his camera, mobile phone, and computer, and transferred him to the detention center of the Intelligence Office in Ahwaz capital.

Mr. Hossein Zadeh Shaeyea suffers from intestinal pain, severe asthma, infection, and kidney stones. These illnesses endanger the life of the cameraman during his torture and interrogation by intelligence interrogators.

 The family of Mr. Hossein Zadeh Shaeyea calls on human rights organizations to assist the Ahwazi cultural activist, who supports the oppressed people and reflects the oppression of Ahwazi citizens, in his immediate release by putting pressure on the so-called Islamic Republic of Iran.

In a similar context, the Iranian occupation regime has arrested an Ahwazi elderly man and transferred him to an unknown destination.

Mr. Razi Sheykhani son of Abdulhamid, 50 years old and resident of Fallahiyeh city was arrested on Sunday the 27th of December 2020.

The Iranian intelligence service did not explain the reasons for Mr. Sheykhani’s arrest.

The Iranian occupation courts have issued a 14 years imprisonment sentence for an Ahwazi man in recent days.

Mr. Mustafa Hilali son of Sarhan, 33 years old and resident of Ahwaz capital, has been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment under false charges of “Insulting Supreme leader”, “Acting against national security” and finally “spreading the Sunni belief”, in which Mustafa rejected all the accusations.

Mr. Mustafa Hilali is a resident of Ahwaz capital and eight years ago and due to systematic pressure from intelligence service against him, he decided to move to Zahedan city but he was arrested in June-July 2019.

Mustafa Hilali was subjected to the most severe torture during his detention so that he lost his front teeth in order to obtain confessions under torture. Mustafa was then transferred from Zahedan to Mashhad Prison, after which he was transferred to Ahwaz Sheyban Prison, where he was sentenced to 14 years in prison after a fake trial in the so-called Revolutionary Court.

In a similar context, the so-called Iranian revolutionary court has issued seven years prison sentence against Ahwazi female activists.

Mrs. Lamia (AKA Sahba) Hamadi son of Zeidan, 23 years old, Married, and has two children, poet, and writer, was arrested after the military parade incident on 22nd of September 2018.  After several months of torture in the intelligence detention, she was released on heavily financial bail on Friday the 27th of March 2020. 

Mrs. Lamia has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment on 30th of December 2020 and return to Ahwazi “Sepidar” prison to spent her imprisonment in an Iranian prison.

Finally, an Ahwazi young man who has been sentenced to death by the Iranian occupation regime has been transferred to solitary confinement cells, in the raising fear about his execution.

Mr. Jasem Haidari has been sentenced to death by the so-called revolutionary court and he was transferred to a solitary confinement cell on Saturday the second of January 2021.

Usually, those who are been sentenced to death will be transferred to solitary confinement cells in order to execute the next day.

The Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights calls upon human organisations to put pressure on the criminal regime of Iran to stop the human rights violation in Al-Ahwaz.
