Iran not revealing the place of detention of an Ahwazi preacher since March

According to reliable source quoted to Ahwazi Centre for Human Rights (ACHR) that the Iranian authorities are still not revealing the location of an Ahwazi preacher Baqer Na’ami since his arrest onMarch 2016, although the follow-up of his family for asking the Iranian intelligence service to announce his place of detention.

Mr. Baqer Na’ami with age of 36 years, is married and has two children (Salma and Isaac) was arrested three times before his last time arrest (in March), where he has been arrested on 17th February 2011 and spent more than a month in prison, also he was arrested on 26th of July 2012 and sent 11 months in Iranian prison as well as his arrest on 17th December 2013 and spent five months in prison.

The judge “Sayed Mohammad Baqir al-Moussawi,” who heads the Second Division of the Court of the revolution accused the preacher Baqer Na’ami on charges of “spreading propaganda against the Persian state” and “insulting the sanctities of Islam by leaving the Shiite sect and announce Sunni” where Such charges are routinely made against Ahwazi Arab activists and have often led to harsh punishments, including long jail terms in prisons on the other side of the country or the death penalty.

Mr. Baqer Na’ami’s family asking human organization and defenders to condemn Iranian authorities’ barbaric and atrocious arrest of Ahwazi preacher and requesting them to put pressure on Iran to reveal the place and fate of an Ahwazi detainee.
