Chlorine gas leakage and declaring a state of emergency in Al-Ahwaz
In a mysterious situation, the Chlorine gas leak from three gas cylinders at 22:00 (Al-Ahwaz time) of the Saturday the 12th of August 2017, caused of gas poisoning, affected the Ahwazi residents of the city of Quneitra (Dezful Persian Name) and injuries exceed hundreds up to written of this report, causing government agencies declare a state of emergency and order the formation of a crisis cell in the city of Quneitra.
According to different reports, each gas cylinder’s weight is 1000 kilograms and where all gas was leaked in the city of Quneitra, poisoned more than 300 hundred Ahwazi resident up to now.
According to the Iranian pro media, the chlorine gas leaked from the warehouse of the Quneitra old water Irrigation Company, located between the third bridge and the “Madar” square. The Quneitra governor says the situation is somewhat under control but the sources said that the situation is getting worse and uncontrolled as number of poisoned residents are increasing sharply.
Sources quoted to ACHR that the volume of chlorine gas leakage is so high and hospitals are very crowded, in which the rescue and relief workers were poisoned. Also the chlorine leakage is not restrained up to moment and state of emergency still prevails in Al-Ahwaz region.
